The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Co-Chair of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Maka Botchorishvili, met with Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Chairperson of the Committee on EU Integration in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as the Co-Chair of the Group on Inter-Parliamentary Relations with Georgia, Lyudmila Marchenko and the Head of the Ukrainian Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Ivan Krulko.
The sides discussed the progress made by Georgia and Ukraine on the path to EU integration and dwelt upon the existing challenges. The conversation focused on strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, as well as on activating tripartite formats between the associated partners (Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova).
It was noted that a joint effort is important for all three countries to achieve the ultimate goal of EU integration, and the active use of cooperation formats between parliaments in this regard will facilitate the EU integration process.
The parties discussed issues of cooperation within the Eastern Partnership and the plans of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly for the summit scheduled for December 2021.
