The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Bochorishvili holds the meetings in the Parliament of Ukraine. Today, she met with the Chair of the Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, Oleksandr Merezhko to discuss the challenges in the region.
The parties expressed their concern about the occupation of the Georgian and Ukrainian territories by Russia, hybrid threats from Russia, as well as the Russian militarization at the borders of Ukraine posing threat to regional stability and security.
The parties underlined the importance of friendly relations and strategic partnership between the countries and overviewed the EU and NATO integration process.
The parties stressed the necessity to enhance the cooperation in the trilateral format between Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova within the Associated Trio and, in view to protect the common interest, agreed on the cooperation within various international formats.
