At the joint sitting of the EU Integration and Budget and Finance Committees jointly heard the Progress Report on the implementation of the EU-Georgia Association Agenda for 2020 in the areas of Financial Services, Taxation, Accounting and Auditing.
"The Association Agreement serves as the primary political and legal foundation for our integration and interactions with the European Union, and its full implementation is critical to reaching our ultimate aim”, - the Chair of the EU Integration, Maka Botchorishvili remarked.
The report was introduced to the MPs by Zurab Dznelashvili, Deputy Minister of Finance, Ekaterine Ghazadze, Deputy Auditor General, Papuna Lezhava, Vice President of the National Bank of Georgia and David Onoprishvili, Head of the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia.
The rapporteurs discussed the activities carried out in the direction of fulfilling the commitments under the Association Agreement, expanded on the steps taken, and presented the pertinent statistics to the legislators.
Georgia's reforms in terms of rapprochement and implementation of the Association Agreement in the areas of legislative and institutional compatibility were underlined during the meeting.
The speakers answered the questions of the Committee members and made additional explanations regarding the specific implemented or scheduled activities.
