The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Bochorishvili takes part in the 7th meeting of the Georgia-EU Civil Society Platform.

In her speech, she dwelt on the EU integration, the recent achievements and challenges and future prospects. She introduced an ambitious plan of the Georgian Government on an official application for the EU membership in 2024 and stressed the importance of EaP, EaP Summit in December, its priorities and expectations.

She underlined the common European aspirations of the Associated Trio and noted the importance of the Memorandum concluded with Moldova and Ukraine.

She overviewed the document mediated by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel and noted that the proper implementation of the document is impeded by the fact that the largest Parliamentary opposition party hesitates to sign it and evades to participate in the reforming.

The meeting was organized by the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies and participated by the state agencies and high-rank EU institutions. It is noteworthy that Article 412 of the EUAA envisages the formation of the EU-Georgia Civil Society Platform to facilitate the exchange of positions between the civil societies of Georgia and the EU.
