The Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee discussing the Report by the Public Broadcaster

The Committee heard the PB report on 2020, introduced by the Chair of the Supervisory Board, Irina Putkaradze.

She dwelt on the policy, program priorities, schedule and public opinion, as well as the broadcasting market research.

The broadcasting policy is oriented to become a main discussion platform for the Georgian population.

“Unlike the previous priorities, priorities for 2018-2021 are accompanied by the indices of new assessments giving a clear and exact picture, however, it needs to be further improved and formulated”, - she stated.

The PB, in 2020, released 20 original Georgian products and despite the pandemic, enhanced its activity.

Under the pandemic, the PB launched the TV school, recorded 3114 lessons in the Georgian language and the language of ethnic minorities.

The proper broadcasting of the elections was the main acute problem in 2020. The Committee discussed the budget of the PB and fulfillment of the budget.
